By topic they fall into four broad areas of content and emphasis: guides to special collections, projects, and research tools; linguistics; editing, editions, and translations; and studies of stylistics and content. Co-editor Barbara De Marco introduces and contextualizes the collection for a broad interdisciplinary audience to include ethnographers, historians, and folklorists, as well as the journal's usual readers, philologists and literature specialists (I: i-v).
